Treating Chronic Lower Back Pain

To treat chronic low back pain successfully one must understand backs.  Pain may originate and reside in multiple sites just as multiple tissues can be the site of pain.

There are at least seven tissues common to the lower back that can give rise to pain.  They are:

Muscles
Tendons
Bone
Ligaments
Discs (also a ligament)
Nerves
Other connective tissue

One reason surgery sometimes fails is that it can not address all of these multiple sites of pain, while decompression therapy has at least some influence on all of them, namely discs, muscles, joints, nerves and circulation.
